WP Security Scan

I don’t have to harp about the importance of security as it is common knowledge that blawgs contain sensitive information like email addresses of readers who have left comments.

WP Security Scan is WordPress plugin that scans your WordPress installation for security vulnerabilities and suggests corrective actions.

As with all plugins, do the following:

  1. Download WP Security Scan.


  2. Unzip it to your local drive of your computer. It should create a folder “wp-security-scan“


  3. FTP it to your website under “wp-content/plugins/“.


  4. Login as an administrator to your WordPress installation and click the “Plugins” link.


  5. Click the “Activate” link and this will create a tabbed link called “Security” on the top.


  6. Click the “Security” tab and it’ll show you what vulnerabilities exist. Currently, it is quite basic but future releases promise more security features.

Overall, a very good tool for your WordPress blawg.
